Nancy Larrick, 93, an internationally recognized expert on reading whose
parents' and teachers' guides persuaded generations of young people to
tackle literature, died of pneumonia Nov. 14 in Winchester, Va., where she
lived.

M. Barry, 64; Led Theater Programs
Kathleen Margaret Barry, 64, former program director of the National
Theatre's free Saturday Morning and Monday Night programs, died of
pneumonia Nov. 20 at Iliff Nursing Home in Dunn Loring. She had Alzheimer's
disease.

Charles James Jefferson, 58, a high-ranking State Department official, died
Nov. 22 of liver disease and inflammation of the brain at a hospital in
Astoria, Ore. He had lived in Seaside, Ore.,
for the past two years.

federal government and a longtime member of her church choir, died of
cardiopulmonary arrest Nov. 13 at Iliff Nursing Home and Rehab

she had resided since 2002.
